Seniors are always looking for low impact exercise ideas. We have to be kind to joints, find just a couple of friends with which to socialize, and of course fit our budget.

The most difficult of this critera is cost when considering backyard toss game called Corn Hole. The boards can be built for about $36.00. No carpenter skills means it would be necessary to purchase at about $125.00.

In addition one needs a set of 4 bags for each person playing. Corn can be purchased, used fabric and some sewing skills can accomplish this. I made mine by finding canvas fabric at Goodwill, cutting it into 7″ squares. I double stitiched the bags using 1/4 inch seam allowance. Once filled with a pound of corn in each bag will bring the bag down to the regulation 6″ square. Again double stitch the bag shut.

Since I have a booth at Prospectors Flea Trade and Market in Lima Ohio, I made some extra bags available to people who might need to replace or secure several sets of cornhole bags. I sell them for $10 a set or $18.75 for 2 sets.

We seniors doing internet business soon learn that capture pages are the in thing and very necessary.  Then comes the problem of how to make them and who will make them for us.  It’s great to know, altho computer illierate, we can do it ourselves.  Do you think you could make one. Now I’m going to share a little of my experience and why I did it.

Capture Page creator is another tool necessary for working your business on the internet. It is essential if you belong to an affiliate where everyone has the same choice of sites for promoting your business. I refer to those as generic sites. Each site is exactly alike except for the url or embedded links. The search engine spiders find nothing unusual or unique about a generic site so they just pass on over it. My main business site is http://www.pandalady.net which was created to be a cover to the SynflexAmerica generic site. Even that site has much of what is in the affiliate site so it is not all that unique. I used the capture page creator to make a page that would interest the search engines as many arthritis sufferers would search the words “arthritis, manage, cure, tips, solutions”.

The capture page presents a problem: what to do about arthritis. Then comes the solution: make lifesytle changes to manage it. One of the solutions is to go to my website which takes them to SynflexAmerica generic site. The capture page says nothing about buying anything, it only offers a solution. If the person appreciates the suggestions, they look further for more solutions. Capture pages, or squeeze pages serve the purpose of providing information to a targeted audience and narrow the information so that the search engines can narrow down the results to specific discussions. The squeeze page will drive more targeted visitors to the main webpage, which will drive more visitors to the Synflex page. A squeeze page provides information for a 30 sec read before the reader proceeds to find more information or leaves because I didn’t provide the solution to their problem.. That means the squeeze page is perfect for advertising sites.

No one can join 12 sec community directly. One must be a member of 12 sec commute, tools site with the social community as one of the benefits of being a member.Membership is by approval only. As part of the process of using 12 sec tools, one is directed to join the social community on day 3 of the adjenda. After all social communities is one of the methods of doing on line marketing.

Capture page creator is the tool that 12 sec. commute site provides at no extra cost. If one had purchased an adtracker site in one location and then purchased the capture page creator at another site, they would have spent well over the $29 mo. fee which we pay at #12 sec. commute.

I followed the video provided on the site, and attended one conference. The most difficult part for me was handling the html as sutff tends to bounce all over the page. I used the simpliest direct way to make the page as I was more interested in content than in the looks. That squeeze page is used in the siganture line of all posts I make in the 12 sec welcome wagon group which I created for 12 sec commute. My reasoning was that many will viisit the welcome wagon looking for entrepenuers and see the join at the bottom signature line. As stated, they can’t do that directly. The squeeze page has just some basics to encourage them to search further being that it is a quick read of 30 sec. The generic site would be too long a read and they would walk away.

Some questions to ponder: What is your target group? How will they find your site? What key words would draw people to your site? What solution do you provide for the needs of your prospects?

Never believe that we seniors can’t use tools for promoting an on line business. Several times I have been advised to buy an adtracker service or told “you really should have an adtracker”. I purchased the service only to find, I didn’t have a clue as to how it all worked. Then I came across a site that actually taught me.

Now that was not exactly an easy task. First I watched a video, then I saw it described in an on line conference with images to follow. So off I went to finally use an adtracker. In the end I had to get on skype for just a little more assist. I did it! ! ! ! I am currently tracking about 25 ad sources for my Synflex-America affiliate business. Here are some thoughts I want to share about Adtrackers.

Adtrackers are used to determine who and from what source are your ads being read or shown to others. For example Business A is entered in a traffic exchange XYZ. You put in your site url and add the credits. The T E site tells you that your site has been viewed a certain # of times. If you paid for those views did you indeed get that many views? If you spent hours surfing, what was your return?

From using Adtrackers I have found:

which sites are delivering what they promised
which sites produce clicks
how many credits does it take to make a sale or capture a potential customer.
which social communities have people checking me out

I have adtrackers checking on signature lines, profiles, forum posts, TE sites If the results are not accurate ie. you bought 5,000 hits and only received 2,000 hits, or you earned 1,000 credits clicking on ads to earn credits but never received that many views, then we would want to move to another site. Now we are going about using T E sites in a way that shortens our commute. We no longer waste time and money because daily we evaluate our efforts. Is anyone looking at your profile and clicking on your websites? That determines which communities we spend our social time. Signature line is not producing any website views then we change our key words. Forum postings are producing any lookers, then we need to change the forum subjects or where we post. On line marketing is a science not just throwing ads out to the airwaves. Adtrackers are the tool for saving money and time to ensure success.

People are promised large, super large income for posting on Tweeter. One orders a CD for a small shipping fee and then is charged a huge monthly fee if not returned. You own yourself to go read the entire article. This is yet another scam aimed at those who feel the need for supplemental income during this current depression,.

When considering on line jobs,think through using this criteria:

1.The “job” is actually a money-making scheme and doesn’t provide actual employment.
2. The work-at-home scheme claims that you can make lots of money with little effort and no experience.
3.You have to pay money up front in order to be considered for the job or receive more information.
4.The exact same tweet touting the program is posted by many different Twitterers. The links in such tweets could lead you to scam sites or install malware onto your computer.

If you google the words ” easy tweeter profits. com” you will find that it leads to a site with a very different name. This is a site you have seen promoted often on TE sites. Beware of anyone wanting you to pay shipping for info. they want you to have so you can start a business, a business that entails tweeting. I recently came across another such offer as heard on late night talk radio. It sounds so legit because the programs are promoted on leading radio shows. Those wanting the info not only loose the price of the info hut have the posibility of being charged every month. Seniors, read the small print.

Using Twitter, Facebook, Linkin for seeking jobs can be a positive way to search for on line employment.

I recently found a blog discussion on the Moken people  where I learned about a  primitive culture, who have no  word  for time. Their nomad life style is based on no time to be anywhere and no time lines to meet. What a concept for retirees. Someone comes to visit you wouldn’t shoo them off nor would we schedule activites for particular day. The culture is well  documented in books by Jacques Ivanoff.
A recent documentary about the Moken “sea gypsies” aired on 60 minutes pointed out that they also do not have a word for” when”. Without words for” time” and “when” the Moken would have no concept of age. That too is an interesting concept for us to consider. Unencumbered by thoughts of aging and how long we have to spend with our children/grandchildren or what is the life expectancy of our situation how would we live?  Would we watch less stock market reports, accumulate more wealth, collect things for the future, put off fun things to do? The list is endless once we put aside “when”; when I ……..then I will do XXXX.

How old would you be if you did not know your age? Would you still be working because you enjoyed it or did you retire because that was expected of you?  I know people who are still working at 70 or 90 because they do not let age dictate their working activities.

 Do we accept dementia because it is affecting someone 85? I know people older than that who just graduated from college, writting books, creating great works etc. Dementia is not a part of aging as are many other ailments we accept as common to aging.  They are illness common to aging. Should we allow age to affect our acceptance of physical and mental decline?

It seems that those not concerned with age send messages to their body that they want to continue being active. If we constantly remind ourselves that we should not do certain things because of our age, we have sent messages of discouragement that keep us from seeking  desires. Joe Paterno, age 81, Penn State football coach  of 50 years is a good example of allowing interests to dictate our lifestyle rather  than allowing age to slow us down.

Does your cronological age dictate your actions? Would you like to start a new career? How about enrolling in a college course? What would you do if you did not have “when” or “time” in your vocabulary like the Moken? Can we stop time if we don’t allow time to stop us?

Panda picked  the subject of timelessness so that we are not controlled by a birthcertificate or held back  by time.  May we remember memories of the past but keep on building new memories.

We seniors, altho still learning so many skills , are not idiots when it comes to all this new technology. We are just on the learning curve. So let’s learn a new tech  word to defend ourselves.

When you seek support and you have it explained to you that it was an ID-10-T issue be aware that you are being snurkered.  So wise up and read that code again. .. IDIOT.

Remind the technologist that you were wise enough to choose them as the source of professional help and congratulate them that they still have employment.  Without wise people like us who seek their assistance they would be unemployed.

Another bit of advise.  When told to “click on any key“, be aware that there is no  key on your keyboard labeled “Any Key”.  They are telling you to choose a  key and click on it.  There now you won’t hear “took care of that Id-10-T issue”.
